GETTING STARTED

The email should arrive within 30 minutes of the election start time, and it will be sent to the email address your county has on file. If you’re within that window, it may still be on its way. Please also check your spam, junk, and/or trash folders to make sure it didn’t end up there.

If you still haven’t received it after 30 minutes, please contact the Voatz Help Desk. Ask them to confirm that you’re on the eligible voter list and that they have the correct email address.

The Voatz app is supported on:

  • Android smartphones running Android 8.0+
  • iPhones running iOS 12.4+

The Voatz app is not supported on tablets.


If you are using an outdated version of your phone’s operating system, upgrade your phone to the latest version, or contact the Voatz Help Desk and they can assist you with alternative ways to vote.

Yes. Voatz is optimized to work with your smartphone’s assistive capabilities such as VoiceOver, TalkBack and Speech-to-Text.

SIGN UP

You must sign up with the same email address that appears on your county’s voter registration list. It’s the same one where you received your voter invitation.

If you entered the wrong email address, you’re not sure what email address your county has on file, or you used an obsolete email you can no longer access, contact the Voatz Help Desk for assistance.

If you previously installed and signed up for Voatz, you must use the same email address you used the first time. If this email address is no longer available to you, contact the Voatz Help Desk for assistance.

Please check to make sure you’ve entered all 6 digits correctly, and then you’ll be able to tap Next and continue with the sign up process.

  • Make sure you’ve entered 8 digits
  • Make sure the PIN does not include three sequential or identical numbers (e.g. 123 or 111)
  • Examples of an acceptable PIN: 19651965 or 12457812

VERIFICATION

Double check your Verification Key in the welcome email and try entering it again.

First, double check your Voter ID to make sure you entered it correctly.

If your Voter ID is correct, then the email address or phone number you used to sign up does not match the information that appears on your county’s voter registration list. Contact the Voatz Help Desk for assistance.

After entering your Voter ID, you should be verified immediately. If you see a “pending” status, you may have entered Voter ID incorrectly. Contact the Voatz Help Desk for assistance.

VOTING

When your ballot is available, you will see a red circle next to Elections on the home screen. Tap Elections to view your ballot and vote.

If the election window is open and you don’t see a red circle next to Elections, tap the Refresh button a couple times. If you still don’t see a red circle next to Elections, contact the Voatz Help Desk.

Your ballot receipt is sent to the email address you entered when you signed up. Check your spam, junk, and/or trash folder to make sure it didn’t end up there.

If you’re not sure what email address you used to sign up, go to the Voatz home screen and tap on Verifications, then tap on Device. Press and hold the box to view the email address associated with your account.

From the Voatz home screen, tap on Options, then tap on Ballot Receipt Password. Press and hold the box to view your password. It might be helpful to write it down so you can easily enter it when you return to your email to view your receipt.

ADDITIONAL HELP

Contact the help desk using one of the following methods:

  • Send an email to support@voatzsupport.zendesk.com
  • Tap Help in the upper right corner of the Voatz mobile app, then tap the Call or Email button at the bottom of the screen


To expedite the process, please have the following information ready:

  • Your name, email address and mobile number
  • Your county (e.g. Smith County, Utah)
  • You phone model (e.g. iPhone 10 or Moto G6)
  • Your device’s operating system version (if known)
  • What you’re trying to do (e.g. install Voatz, sign up, access your ballot, vote)
  • Nature of the problem, including the error message, if any
  • Your case number, if you’re following up on a previous help request
